Hog's Breath Cycles offers Dyno service to everyone using the DYNOJET 250I Motorcycle Dyno. We are capable of creating custom fuel maps and tuning all Power Commander devices and jetting all carbureted motorcycles.

Our dyno is equipped with an AFR Analyzer for precise tuning.

Dyno Rates:

General HP Runs no tuning you will get a graph with date for your own reference. (we will usually offer advice on tuning).

Motorcycles - HP and Torque $40
AFR Reading with Run $50

Runs consist of running the motorcycle on the Dyno until operating temperature is reached. Pulls will be made until 2 consistent pulls have been made.

Tuning Sessions are based on $100 per hour flat rate, price below reflect what customer can expect for general cost.

PC3 and PCV Custom Map $225 and up
Carbuerated Motorcycle Jetting $100/hour

Hog's Breath Cycles has a mobile Tune Center Dynometer. We will be attending various motorcycle and motorsport events in the Midwest. Contact the shop for an appointment at one of these events or to schedule our service at your next event.

With a state-of-the-art Dyno and Load Cell, HBC is able to load your motorcycle, test and measure rear whell horsepower, torque, speed, RPM and air/fuel ratio. HBC will then tune your bike by providing you with custom mapping designed specifically for your motorcycle. This infomation will allow HBC to utilize the fuel module to adjust fuel delivery and ignition timing in your bike, along with other related problems. Having your motorcycle tuned by HBC will get your bike running like it should.

We use the latest software and hardware available. We are constantly upgrading at a cost of nearly $2,000 per year. Our Tuning Link software is the most technologicaly advanced sysem available for tuning fuel injected motorcycle.

Professional racers use the POWER COMMANDER and custom mapping to maintain top performance. Some customers are so convinced of the benefits that they are crating and shipping their bikes for custom mapping.

A Dynamometer is essential to realizing the full potential of today's fuel injected and carbureted motorcycles with performance modifications. This is the only tool that can accurately calibrate fuel and ignition maps or diagnose run/drivability issues in a controlled environment.

So Why Would you Want To Have Your Motorcycle Evaluated On The Dyno?

Curiosity is a big factor. How is your engine performing? Looking for more power is the big motivator. If you want to improve performance, you need the base line to design the changes that will give you what you want. Most riders look at increased horsepower as the best measure of performance. Big horsepower is developed at very high RPMs. Motors that develop big horsepower don't necessarily perform well for normal street riding. A better strategy is to think about what type of riding you do most often and what you want the engine to do that is now doing now, that's where the Dyno comes in.

If you want that "Neck snapping" type of acceleration, what you are realy after is mid-reange torque increases The mechanical changes you would make to your engine would be different then those that would produse the highest horsepower number. The dyno will show you where the power comes on, and the RPM range and what type of numbers a specific combination of pistons, heads, cams, carbs and exhasts will produse. It has also shown which systems perform well and which are mostly advertizing hypes Some of the coolest looking exhausts perform very poorly at low to mid-range engine speeds. Since the low to mid-range is where the majority of riding is done, you may be happier with a different choice the delivers the power you want. The dyno helps you make informed decisions so you get the best combo of great looks and increased power.
